We can't, the killing will continue, too many entire families are sworn to revenge, they do not want to live together, there is too much history, but they do unite on one thing they don't want the USA's foreign fighters in their country, stealing their oil.

We don't care if they massacre each other. Haven't you heard the liberals? There's no WMDs in Iraq, no links between Iraq and 9/11, and no UN resolution allowing the invasion. Thus, we need to get OUT of Iraq ASAP. The Sunnis and Shiites can go on killing each other all day long until eventually they elect a despot to do it for them, but that's their problem.

Now, in Darfur, you have the people killing each other, but that's a much more stylish cause than Iraq. So, something needs done there. Sudanese lives are worth more than Iraqi lives. Besides, Hollywood supports Darfur intervention and that's almost as good as UN approval.

We can stop it. Can you name a single Middle Eastern country other than Iraq where Sunnis and Shiites massacre each other on a daily basis? I can't. They get along just fine in every other Middle Eastern country and they will eventually get along in Iraq.

I think we should have longer than that. September is the first reporting deadline for the surge. I think we need to look into next year for an end to the fighting at the level it is now.

Giving them weapons like bush has recently done certainly isn't helping diplomatic relations between the two.

They've been trying to kill each other for a thousand years.

No administration, Bush or otherwise, will solve it.
