Who agrees that this tournament is totally retarded?

C'mon! Rodger Federer losing to Tony Parker. Are you serious!?

And why do they even have international players on the list?

It's obvious that Ronaldinho is more now than anyone on the list (with exception of maybe Tiger). Ronaldinho is known in every country in the world. And yet he lost to Kobe who, for the most part, is only known in America.

Shaq (who, may I mention is WAY past his prime), beat Michael Phelps (who is at the top of his game). What is this crap?

This whole tournament is a load of crap. And how do they justify a matchup between Soccer and Football? It's not even fair in this country! I CAN'T WAIT 'TILL IT'S OVER!!!

I completly agree with what Craig and Hobbs said!

You're right, Craig. What the hell is being "Now" anyways? lol

It's not like the winner will brag to his buddys saying: "Hey, I get to choose what kind of pizza we order. After all, I'm now!"

&hearts andrea: You sound just like the people on ESPN. Believe me, I like sports just as much as the next guy. But seriously... This segment is a terrible idea.

I don't even understand why they would include someone who is a swimmer like Phelps when we all know he won't win.

Phelps is WAY more now than Shaq.
Shaq is way past his prime. Hasn't been on a magizine cover lately like Phelps has. And he doesn't hold near as many world records as Phelps.

As far as I'm concerned. Shaq would have blown the competion away in the year 2000. But not now.

It just seems pointless to include Kelley Slater, too. Why include someone who doesn't even have a snowball's chance in #ell at winning?

They're embarrassing themselves with the whole idea. What does being "now" even mean, really? And how do you debate who's more "now" between Federer and Parker, two completely different athletes?

Just another sign of how ESPN is becoming more about entertainment and less about sports.

the tournament is just a waste of time. The real superstars are being eliminated in the first round. Tony Parker may be good in basketball but federer maybe the greatest tennis player in history. ronaldino is better then kobe, and i dont even see why fans in the states would vote for kobe. Shaq i could see winning only because of what he has done off the court. But michael phelps is by far a better athlete then shaq.

I think that it's fun. Just because you don't think that a certain person should have won, who cares. This is America. It's about who's now, in AMERICA! Of course shaq beat phelps!! Shaq is worldwide. He even has his own tv show!! Michael Phelps just doesn't have that kind of potential. Swimming just isn't very popular on tv, especially compared to basketball.

Roger Federer vs Tony Parker is a tough choice. But you have to consider the fact that Tony Parker led his team to yet ANOTHER championship win and is also the championship MVP. He's also married to Eva Longoria! Yes, I know federer won wimbeldons, and opens, and that stuff, but it all comes down to which sport is more popular and who is very likeable.

I don't even know who Ronaldinho is! Of course he lost to Kobe!! He's a great basketball player. He can even score 60 point a game!!! He's definitely a household name, and kids even pretend to be him sometimes, cuz they want to be an NBA star.

This series is drawing a lot of viewers, and I love it. It was a great idea, and it will continue in the next few years to see who is now, then. It is a tournament to see who is the all-american super-star of today!

It's just a marketing promotion like all of the ESPN Movies. For a few weeks it's all that you see and hear about. I also agree that this "tournament" is pointless.
