I'm fairly new toY/A and am wondering why conservatives answers quite often don't answer the question but turn it around and point to something the liberals did or stand for? They also blame the "liberal" media. Just answer the question.
PS Liberals do this too, in reverse, just not as much
Can't anyone just answer the question posed. I find this forum very informative, seeing different perspectives and all.
I'm an independant

It's easier to deflect the issue than to answer the question. Your right both sides do it and it makes everyone look like grease balls. Some of the questions can be framed to make liberal/conservatives defensive, I believe questions should be filtered for bias so they can be answered in a "he/she did it first" manner.
Great Example:
Instead of asking,
"Is Senator Vitter a hypocrite for his recent actions with the DC Madam?"
which could make a consrvative point to the Clinton Scandal
One should Ask
"Why arent politicians held to the same standards that they promote?"
Or something to that affect

Years in the past, the well-liked party, and the Conservative party joined to become the well-liked Conservatives. lots extra these days, the Reform party (which blanketed people who had broken far off from the computer's) joined, and the call began out because of the fact the Conservative-Reform Alliance till the finished turning out to be to be a member of, and then they desperate on being in simple terms the Conservative party of Canada. Provincially, maximum Conservative events are nevertheless cutting-facet Conservative. Both Sides do it equally. This forum has turned into a joke in the sense that few questions are legitimate and even less answers are legitimate. When I feel a question is an honest, legit question I give it the attention it deserves. When I feel a question is for no other purpose than to provoke or incite, then of course I, and many others will Pop off, ridicule, or bash the questioners.
The key to answers is, you can't take it personally and don't get wrapped around the axle. It's a bunch of faceless, nameless and shameless people spewing a bunch of worthless rhetoric and that includes me. So enjoy!

Most questions are poorly written.
Both sides, and those in between address leading question that have false statements as if they were attacks, and respond in kind.
If someone references a article that is slanted one way or the other or contains outright lies, the person answering should point that out.
The main problem with Y/A is that many people ask question they do not want to hear the answers to, they just want everyone to agree with their rant and not debate the issue.
Try putting a balanced question where you do not lead the reader to the type of answer you want and you will get good answers.

What does your being an "Independent" have to do with posting an already biased question. Being an independent has nothing to do with societal viewpoints. You are a Lib and that is apparent by how you asked the question and the added quotation marks..Being an Independent Conservative, I think you fail to realize that claiming to be an "independent" doesn't absolve you from having political views. You are just as bad, but don't have the balls to state it.

Many people on this forum do not discuss the issues intelligently because they don't really know the facts. I have seen many arguments that have blatant outrageous lies on both sides. Those that are ignorant of the truth must resort to name-calling.

Both side want simple answer for complex questions.
It helps the trolls feel important to come screaming through with their junk.
Sometimes the fault does lie with liberals and sometimes it does lie with conservatives.
Nobody for the most part want to admit they are wrong.

I have a better question. Why is it that when a conservative asks a question, all liberals do is respond with, "Bush is a braindead ape"?
