Why does the military fight for freedom of the press if the military doesn't like the liberal news media?

I have not heard any military personnel attack the liberal or conservative base of this country. The military fights for freedom because our country is based on our Pledge of Allegiance which states "One nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all".

You're oversimplifying.

Some military guys complain about liberal bias in the media.

I've met military guys who are liberal, politically, and who have no problem with left-leaning news media...

A whole bunch of military guys don't pay any attention whatsoever to politics or watch the news at all.

Those who pay attention, liberal or conservative, understand that our freedom as Americans means people are free to disagree. These people would, will, and do fight for that concept. Its not about personally agreeing with everybody.

The military is fighting for all of our freedoms, most importantly the first amendment right to freedom of speech.

good question.I would only offer an opinion from a different view. Do you liston to what you are saying? or are you just interested in being heard by anyone who will liston? It has been my understanding that the reason for speaking is for listening to what we are doing with our knowledge. are we self destructive? if so. how and why. I had to learn why silence was golden, because I do have ears and so does an enemy. if the mind of a mouth piece can not be aware of how it lives and what it does, then why protect it?

the military are fighting overseas but not for your freedom. Supposedly for the Iraqi freedom but you see how they are now.
