Everyone has their own version of what is and isn't 'truth'. You have yours, many people have others. The ones that I'm losing more and more respect for as each day passes, are some of the conspiracy 'people'. :)
In all fairness, I think that everyone should show some respect and quit beating a dead horse.
I seriously doubt that there is one person on this site who knows the truth.

The truth is, in my opinion, more important. And I agree that it is our duty to ask questions and not blindly accept what anyone tells us, and that includes the president, any president -- whether you personally voted for him or not. As for the military, I have a hard time criticizing them, because basically, they are taking direction from the president. However, if you are a person who believes that going into Iraq was a mistake, and that maybe all the reasons we were told for going into war were not true, then isn't it supporting miltary people to question whether or not they should be there? Isn't asking questions a good way to effect some kind of change? Isn't knowing the truth the way to know whether a change is necessary?

I'm conservative and criticize the President a lot. I think that Iraq was necessary but was turned into a disastrous adventure for the morons in charge.
What "truth" is there to know about the war? The reasons why we attacked? A whole nation was being terrorized by a dictator who used rape, torture, and genocide to get his way. He was evil. We should do the same intervention (without the screw-ups) in Zimbabwe and Sudan as well.

The truth as define by who those who want Iraq to fail or make it.
Each side has done a good job of slicing and dicing the truth to push thier own agenda.
If the whole truth would come out I do believe everybody would have to admit they were wrong and that is not going to happen in this politcal climate of 30 second sound bites.
You wonder about conseravtive I wonder about liberals too that can see beyond their hate for Bush.

I am no fan of W, I think he is a bad president for many reasons. But what I do think we all should remember, is that whatever the president tells the american people, he is also telling our enemies. So we really can't expect to know everything about what is going on with strategy in a war until its effective window is past. When you have a president like W its really hard to trust him, since its been shown after the fact that he and his people have been wrong a lot already.
I also think that it is better to tell the american people you can't discuss certain things publicly, than to lie to them. We have people in both parties on the armed services committee and other forums where they have security clearances and those people can represent our interests without compromising security.

And what is the truth in your opinion? Are we losing the war? What is your definition of lose? Have the terrorists gained ground or handed severe causalities to our troops?
I love it when clowns that have never been to Iraq turn on the TV and think they KNOW whats going on by watching a liberal news outlet... Please... I suspect that you are much smarter than that. People will believe what they want to believe but dont trust everything that you hear.

Its a democracy, your supposed to question the decisions made by politicians. As a citizen, you have a duty to uphold democracy against tyranny - the constitution points that out.
After your duty to uphold the constitution and democracy, comes your duty to be patriotic and loyal towards the government and military.
Even conservatives would agree on that.

The truth is obviously more important, but the real truth, not the truth viewed through a liberal lens.
