It IS a political issue.
if it was stricktly environemental and all these so called "supporters" were behind it, dont you think they would cease using plastic? driving their cars? they would have to make major changes in their lifestyles. and it wont happen.
they would rather pretend they do, by saying they do online.
ann-maybe you just dont understand the question.
neither do you, your answer is insulting to the asker.
thumbs down proves my point.

They feel that something like global warming that truly threatens us all (in their minds) is an issue for humanity before politics.
The only problem is anything that could possibly combat global warming has to go to the political stage in order to be put into law and forced on us. All global warming is anyway is a ploy to advance political liberal agendas like anti-capitalism and raising taxes. It has nothing to do with an actual problem that we are causing but the libs that want to push that agenda have all the people that are truly concerned about the environment to give their ignorant support.

Both issues are cause by mankind and nobody can point the
finger at someone and say he or they are to blame. global
warming could be stopped in one days time, shut down all the
worlds power houses, take everyone's car away, do away with plastic containers all together, that means you'll have to go without electrcity and go back to bikes or walking. So how
many takers do I have out there. As far as war we are going to have wars until the end of time and everybody in this country wanted us to go after the terrorist who were resposible for 9/11 some people are just tired of the effort
while I might not agree with all the methods, but I'll back our
troops no manner where they are sent. One thing the Amish
could blame others for global warming because they do live without everything I mentioned. So us all convert to the Amism faith then convince the other 6 billion or so people who live on this planet that would even end all the wars . So go ahead you convince all the different cultures to change
back to the way it was a hundred years ago good luck.

It is a political issue, but only because of conservatives who believe in big oil money more than scientific evidence.
It is not the liberals who are lying on this one.
It is undisputed that human activity is pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere than at any time in the last several million years (yes they do know how much CO2 was in the atmosphere for the last several million years)
It is undisputed that CO2 is a green house gas and acts to trap radiant heat in the atmosphere.
It is undisputed that the earth is warming and Glacier and polar ice is melting.
The preponderance of the evidence suggests that we, humans, are warming the planet with our industrial activity.
The preponderance of the evidence suggests this is more bad than good. Higher temps mean higher sea levels. The fast majority of the people live close tot he sea in low lying areas.
It is undisputed that we can curb these carbon emissions.
It is undisputed that the best way to do that is to use less fossil fuel. Conserving expensive fossil fuel and developing more efficient lower carbon energy sources benefits everyone except the fossil fuel industry.
The preponderance of the evidence suggests that if we reduce or eliminate CO2 then the warming rate will slow, stop or possibly reverse. The preponderance of the evidence suggest that is more good than bad.

I don't know what a "LIEberal" is, but as a liberal, I've never said that global warming isn't a political issue.
The scientific evidence of anthropogenic global warming is of course a scientific issue.
Our actions to slow global warming will be a political issue, as our government must impose regulations in order to sufficiently decrease our greenhouse gas emissions.

Because it is a multi-spectrum issue. It affects everyone, in numerous ways. The responsibility to care for our planet belongs to all of us.
Politicians choose to ignore the facts in exchange for campaign contributions from some of the biggest polluters on the planet.
War also crosses the spectrum, but it's the politicians that insist it is their domain; that the American public can't fully grasp the weight of such a decision.
Bull****. It's the common man being sent to die, while the fat cats in Washington get rich off their blood. We grasp the the weight all right,... 6 hands on each casket rail.
I have yet to see one congressman give up their position for voluntary duty in a military conflict.

Because Cons have staked their political future and Bush's legacy on this single issue. He's failed not only the Republicans, and his supporters MISERABLY on every single issue... ie immigration, social security, tax breaks will be repelled, the so called death death tax, education, on every single issue just a GREAT BIG FLOP.
And as an additional slap in the face to those in denial... he even validated Global Warming as a serious issue.... how do you like those potatoes

No one can *prove* that human being are causing global warming without a "control", which would be an Earth that doesn't have humans living on it. Without a control against which to judge your experiment (our Earth), there is no scientific validity, only guesswork and speculation.

Liberal lies? Who lied and started this war in the first place?
Bush backed out of the Kyoto agreement, said it needed more study, and this isn't politics?

Because global warming is caused by natural cycles in the Earths climate. In the 70s they called it global cooling because we had many years of below normal temps. Did you know that Mars has warmed up about the same amount as Earth over the past 100 years? Did we pollute that too?

They don't.
The existence of global warming -- whether it's occuring or not and whether it's due to the activities of humans -- is a scientific issue.
What to do about global warming is a political issue.
