I think both would be affected negatively. If a terrorist were to put poison in any bottled drink the entire market for bottled drinks would go down. Whenever any terror attacks happens in the US the stock market falls due to consumer confidence. Pepsi stock price realtive to Coke would be higher but they would be negatively affected. If the incident were not considered a terror attack and it was found that some goof at a coke bottling plant messed up then yes Pepsi stock would probably go up.

Yes, it would go up because Pepsi is a substitute to Coke. People would learn of this poison and buy Pepsi instead of Coke. This doesn't mean terrorists drive the economy, it simply means they can effect sales of a company or two...they would have to hit every category of company in the market to get it to tank. The market shuts down if a certain number of points are lost in a day.

Very possibly ALL soda stocks would go Down in value...

A terrorist attack of this kind would demonstrate a vulnerability in our manufacturing processes that would relate to stocks of many kinds.

Its more likely than not that the entire stock market would take a hit.
