Not completely. It really depends what cultures and sub-cultures you're into. In pop culture, yes it's all about modern blind, no point in denying that, as much as I don't like it.

Listen to some more obscure music like Neofolk or Apocalyptic folk, you'll find an abundance of anachronism.

Just remember, just because it's not in the top 40, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
