The pro-abortion crowd claims that “ the government has no right to tell me what I can and can not do with my body” This is the premise for the abortion mills. My question then is, why does NOW, and Planed Parenthood, not get out and demand a women’s right to be a prostate, or to use drugs. Both actions affect basically only their bodies, so why is it ok to deny a women the right to get high, screw around and earn a living, but its not ok to restrict the butchering of 1,400,000 children a year, to only rape, incest, or medical emergencies. Is that not a double standard in a women’s rights? And yes pro-choice, = pro-abortion, for goodness sakes have guts to stand up and call it what it is, dont hide behind words like a coward.

150 years ago, slavery supporters didn't want to be called pro-slavery; they wanted to be called pro-choice. Today those who support abortion run from the pro-abortion label. Interestingly, most pro-lifers don't mind being called anti-abortion--so long as the opposition is labeled appropriately.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. 150 years ago African Americans were being treated as property; today unborn children are treated as property to be destroyed of at will. It's shameful and outrageous.

It also interests me that liberals who are so opposed to government intervention in abortion are generally so supportive of government intervention in society and the economy.

Choice can be a good thing, but it's not always so. People once had the CHOICE to own slaves; factory owners once had the CHOICE to hire and mistreat child laborers. Dictators have the CHOICE to oppress their people. Corrupt politicians have the CHOICE to enrich themselves at the people's expense. Rogue prosecutors have the CHOICE to destroy innocent people's lives and reputations. Etc., etc. Now people have the CHOICE to destroy their unborn children. But should they?

That's a really good question. Despite the fact that many latinos vote democratic, many are against gay marriage and abortion. I'd actually like to know because it's one of the few reasons I support anything the democratic party does. Regardless of that, the views of a supreme court justice should not be of importance. It is not in their job description to insert their beliefs into decisions, they are they to do nothing more than interpret the constitution. They are the judicial branch, legislation comes from congress.

I total agree. These organizations just focus on abortion (even if they say reproductive issues...abortions are their money maker).

The same people who don't want the government involved in their life are mostly for more government involvement in other ways. Most pro choice followers are narrow-minded and ununderstanding.

Why the heck is it that in this forum, the pro-lifers get the more thumbs down? Pro-Lifers, I know you are the majority. Give the pro-choicers the thumbs down.

I am all for legalized prostitution, the only thing I find offensive about hookers is that they don't pay income tax. As for drugs, here is the thing about drugs, narcotics are illegal. They are a substance that alters perception, reality and causes the user to disconnect from reality, they are highly addictive and cause a person to loose control. When a person does drugs they may not have the ability to stop, that is why they should be illegal and controlled, as for hookers and abortion, hey it a choice..

Drugs, Sex and earning affects the masses not just women.

Also I am not for abortion and I don't like it however it is a right that these women who decide to do it now have.

Oh by the way to compare drugs and sex to aborations doesn't really make a good arguement.

Why are Pro-lifers also pro-death sentence? Double standard all over.

If you're going to say pro-choice should also be in favour of drug taking then pro-life are in favour of Rape.

Pro-life is like the pimp that forces women into prostitution. They say she must have the child even though she doesn't want it and see it only as the route of her problems. Pro-choice would be the woman saying that she doesn't want to be a prostitute if she didn't want to.

jaz said it right. Pro-choice means a woman has the right to choose for HER body. Pro-abortion means every pregnant woman should have an abortion. If you're against abortion, then don't have one. What another chooses to do is no business of yours or anyone else. Quit trying to force your beliefs on others and quit passing judgment. I'm am so sick of people telling others how they should live. I'm not afraid to say I'm Pro-Choice. My beliefs are mine & I won't allow others to tell me how to decide for my body. I'm calling it what it is, don't put your words in my mouth. I can definitely speak for myself. 2D

The problem varies from country to country. With more and more indiviuality taking over such problems will surface.

Pro-Abortion means everyone should have an abortion . . . and that is NOT what Pro-Choice is but you can look at it how ever you please. I also believe if someone wants to sell their body or pump it full of drugs that's their business -- not the governments.

I'll never understand why Pro-Lifers try to force their beliefs on everyone else . . . you RARELY come across Pro-Choicers who find it necessary to try to convert everyone else . . .
