I have a strange situation happening. I have a wireless router broadcasting the signal throughout my house and it works for both my personal and work laptops.
All of a sudden last night, my personal laptop shows no wireless networks available, but the work laptop still works fine.
I have no idea why the personal laptop dropped out. Any ideas on a remedy?

Hmm...could be a variety of things but here are some to try.
Make sure you wireless is enabled using Fn+F2 key.
Go into your wireless settings and move that network to the top of the list.
Restart Windows.....might sound simple but it solves ALOT of problems.

Its hard to tell exactly what it might be without some more info. What did you do with your laptop prior it to the wireless network not showing up?

Off the top I can tell you my experience. I have 4 working PCs, one of which is a laptop. The PC directly connected to the cable works instantly.

When I use the laptop on the table, the connection changes with the direction the laptop faces.

The PC upstairs and around the corner has a "low" connection. It has cut out several times.

Therefore, it may be that your problem has to do with the proximity to the connection.

Why not try the obvious? Shut down your personal laptop, unplug your modem and router.

Wait 30 seconds and plug the modem back in. Wait until the lights stabilize (1 minute), then plug in the router. Again wait until the lights stabilize, then boot up your laptop.

If that doesn't help, tell us what else changed since you last sucessfully got online with your laptop.

Could be a virus.
Could be a TCPIP setting. Have you used the laptop anywhere outside the house?
