due to higher humidity at coasts, the air is nearly saturated with water. The closer air is to saturation point , slower will be the rate of evaporation. this is why the people in the coasts are more sweaty coz their sweat does not evaporate quickly.

It is due to the moisture content of the air which is usually more near the coast.However the humidty conditions near the coast depend upon whether the wind is on-shore or off-shore.If it is off-shore,the hunidity over the nearby sea will be that of the adjacent land,modified by the sea conditions as the air travels further from the coast.If it is on-shore, the humidity over the land increases considerably.When temperature increases the air can hold more moisture.Hence,during day time the moisture will be more in the coastal areas than during night time.Incidently, the sea-breeze blows during day time particularly after the noon time,bringing more moisuture resulting in more perspiration during day time.Strong sea-breeze may sometimes give relief as it can remove the perspiration quickly from the body
