For a man or woman:

Whether or not you have physical beauty does not always matter. You have to "feel" beautiful about yourself.

Use beauty products that are the best that you can afford that are right for your skin, hair, nails. Keep up a great beauty regime. This site is great for helping you choose the best type of products for your skin type: http://neutrogena.com/PersonalEvaluation.asp?sEvalType=undefined&sReferrer=/home.asp&mainVal=pe&subVal=pe

Even something simple like soaking in the warm bath with a cup of whole milk in the bath water (once a week) will soften and help rid you of dead skin cells. Your skin will feel soft and it will make you "look" cleaner.

Take the best care of your teeth that you can afford. If all you can afford to do is brush and floss, then do that. When you smile, there shouldn't be anything caught in your teeth.

Get a hair style that becomes you from a reputable salon. Preferably something that is not too high maintenance but makes you look incredible.

Dress impeccably when you go out even if you are just wearing a crisp white tee shirt and jeans. Be prepared that someone might snap your picture when you least expect it.

One day I just came from the salon and I was wearing a nice fur trimmed hat. The wind was blowing and I had to hold on to it so it wouldn't blow away. A photographer was nearby and she snapped my picture without even asking me! I was flattered because all I was doing was trying to not lose my hat!

Create a classic wardrobe with a few distinctive pieces that are you. Have some kind of trademark accessory that you make cool when you wear it. Maybe you like to wear all black with silver jewelry and bleach your hair an edgy champagne blonde. Just an example.

Be sure that your shoes are shined and maintained. No worn down heels. Even if you wear the same shoes all of the time, they should look clean and shined.

For fame:

Act like you are famous. That is, don't be too common and hang around the street corner or dive like places for example. Have high aspirations for yourself, but also don't be stuffy about it. Have an agenda. Know where you are going. Make appearances at places where people know you. Stay for a little while. Then, kindly leave quickly.

If you want to be famous, cultivate a pleasing manner and become popular...be friendly (not flirty). You want to be captivating, not suffocating. Be genuine.

Hang out at hot spots where celebrities hang out like downtown hotels and restaurants. Check for places in any major city near you.

Volunteer skills that you have for causes you believe in. Even if you are not famous now, people you have helped will remember you when they do see you out there. You never know who you will meet there.

Tip generously when you go out to eat or use a taxi or travel to the airport. Especially if the person goes out of their way to be helpful and kind. The plus is, the person will remember you when they see you again. Again dress impeccably and be gracious.

Well that depends especially on what you want to do. Start getting acting classes, or whatever you're interested in. If you're just interested in being behind the scenes, you can take apprenticeship classes at good film studios, production studios, etc. They usually cost up to $7k, but is good on a resume. Sometimes they people that were teaching you, end up hiring you.

Where do we begin? It depends on what you've got to work with in the first place talent and appearance wise. Make the best of what you've got, put the hard work into your skill and if it's meant to be fame and fortune will follow.
