Whilst I agree, Mr Taco, that Yahoo is not giving a geography lesson, I would say that this site is used by people from all around the world. Many have a great deal of fun, which is how it should be, but for just as many there is a serious side, where people are using Q&A to genuinely further their knowledge and thus, at the same time, educate themselves.

No idea cos its not in the Caribbean, its off the coast on North Carolina in the Atlantic in a region called the Sargasso sea.
Erm I live in Bermuda and it is not in the Caribbean.
JMS - if you read the link you will see that Bermuda does not appear on any map or any list of countries in the Caribbean, it states Bermuda as being further North.
Qwerty - Have you been to Bermuda? No caribbean culture here, it's a hybrid mix of English and American culture. Americans find it very English and the English find it very American.

It is simply a matter of where people expect to find it. Yahoo! is not trying to give us a geography lesson. They are just trying to make it easier for people to find what they want. Ask 10 people on the street where Bermuda is. Most of them will say the Caribbean.

Bermuda is stuck out in the middle of nowhere in the Atlantic Ocean. I think it's just easier to classify it along with the Caribbean, even if that isn't really geographically correct. Also, it may well be similar to other Caribbean islands culturally (I don't know this for sure but hope to find out next year when I visit...). In terms of climate it's not (quite) as hot.

you are right Bermuda isn't in the Caribbean sea it's in the North Atlantic Ocean but because it so close to the Caribbean and the culture is of what you would find in the Caribbean so people say it is cause it has the Caribbean culture and climate and doesn't have any similarities of a cultures in the North Atlantic Ocean but if it Bermuda has Caribbean culture Caribbean climate and it's close to the Caribbean most people will qualify it and it doesn't really make sense to say it's in the north Atlantic sea because it has more similarity with the Caribbean so logically where would Yahoo put Bermuda knowing this...Caribbean.

That's because MANY people still think it's a part of the Caribbean. I was born and raised here on the island. It's sub-tropical, we get winter weather here. In January it can get as chilly as 60 degrees Fahrenheit, not your typical beach weather. So no, we are not part of the Caribbean.

Bermuda is still considered part of the Caribbean, although its weather is sub tropical and much milder (and much further north) than the rest of the islands.

because ppl of bermuda are west indian.....actually being in the caribbean ocean doesnt mean a thing, panamanians, guyanese, brazilians etc. are considered west indian too even thought they are not located in the caribbean were the same because we all came from the same places in africa and were brought over by the same portugese/spanish ships, thats why, geography dont mean **** when it comes to culture and ethnicity and for the record im jamaican, and they still are my ppl, they're not american so most naturally they're us. whether they love it or not, same for the bahamas. and for the idiot who said its not caribbean because its "english speaking" i guess the only caribbean countries are....well that would mean there arent any...genious. caribbean and west indian and two different things, we are called west indian for our strong indian culture, we are called caribbean because of our location and because of the Caribe Indians, so while Bermudans are not caribbean by location they are indeed west indian just like us. they're part of the british west indies. like most of us.

Probably because it's part of the Caribbean. :-)
The Caribbean is a very large area comprising more than 7,000 islands. See the Wikipedia article below for more specific information.
