There is no harm in your idea but also no guarantee of a pregnancy. The Giant of Cerne Abbas does indeed represent fertility, but he has more to do with a bountiful harvest.
He is the same Giant you see on the side of a can of sweet corn sold by the Green Giant Company. He also appears on pub signs, as in the Green Man public house etc.
What really aids fertility is lots of sex. Eventually someone is bound to get pregnant - just keep banging away.
Anyone having sex in the full glare of daylight is bound to have a problem if caught - don't do it. If people must bonk out of doors, choose somewhere less well known.
There are plenty of fertile places. The middle of a cornfield with the usual corn makings might help. You'd better hurry up because it's almost harvest time now.
Watch out for low flying combines.

As far as I'm aware, there was an old legend that unmarried maidens could enhance their future fertility by sitting down on the end of the Cerne Abbas giant's priapic protuberance. Probably a few desperate milkmaids, etc, did this in times gone by. Probably nowadays stoned biker couples think it's a great idea to go up there and have a quickie, but I don't think that was an old custom... As to how it would aid fertility - it probably wouldn't, but if you were hot enough to go up there and do the deed you probably wouldn't need it enhancing much...

Yes its meant to affect fertility, fornicating, on the penis of the giant.
Dont know about the law though. Hopefully its only one night a year, and the police turn a blind eye?

It can't, a bunch of delusional weirdos called 'pagans' like to believe that it does. I had to laugh when one of them said they would do a rain spell to wash the Homer Simpson image away. Duh! It's been raining here for weeks, what a load of tosh!

Well, obviously it can't, really. But he does have a very big, er, weapon, so you can see how the idea, er , arose!
