Get rid of the 60 cent per gallon gas taxes, and don't let John Kerry make any decisions in that arena. Also, get rid of the new "environmentaly friendly" blends that the government forced down our throats. That adds several cents per gallon
Also, increase refining capabilities, and allow for more off shore exploratory drilling.
Plus, put some money into ethenol production, methane, and fuel cell technology. Oh, and while we're at it, we could build some nuclear/coal/hydroelectric plants and shut down oil plants.
No matter what Al Gore or the idiots at your local organic food market tell you, we are not going to end oil dependence in our lifetimes. All we can do is lessen the need and increase production.

I would support a gas tax (almost everyone else have one) this would force car companies to rasie their miles per gallon which would bring us to a much better place than wwere we are right now. I hate gas prices as much as the next college student but if its going to reach 4 or 5 dollaars in the next decade why not be proactive and get something out of it to promote a better car industry as a whole.

Get a grip. Most American spend less than 5% of their income on automobile fuel -- about the same as fifty years ago. Gasoline cost less per gallon than bottled water. Many of the gas whiners seem to need small cruiseliners to run every errand.

Well I'd first would put solar panels on every building in America thus removing the need for electricity, then invest in electric cars and wind power. This way we could use oil found in America and not depend on the middle east and stop making terrorist organization so power full.

I would remind people that they buy a bottle of water for $1.25. If you do the math that comes out to be a heckuva lot more than the price of gasoline. I would also remind them that in Europe they spend about $6 a gallon on gas. So, I wouldtell them to stop complaining, and buy a bike or take the bus if they don't like it.

More than anything, I think we need to find affordable alternatives to petroleum. If we get rid of our dependence on petroleum, it will be better for the environment and it will also improve the situation in the Middle East to some extent.

Cut the huge taxes on gas
expand our refining capability
drill more in Alaska
Continue to work on alternate energy sources ( I know that won't lower prices, but we need to do this anyway.)
