hi,i'm 18 weeks and 4 weeks pregnant and yesturday was a bad day. i popped out with my mum,we couldn't have been out longer than half an hour when i started to get overly hot for no reason. It all happened really quickly, within 5 mins.i started feeling that something wasn't right and my body felt really strange,i felt like i was going to be sick for a second but then i started to loose my vision and held on to some railings.I had pins and needles shooting all over my body from head to toe and could barely feel my hands or legs. The last thing i remember before passing out was that i felt like i had no control over my arms or hands and i couldnt hold onto my drink.Coming round on the concrete was awfull, the pins and needles were so bad,my head felt like it was in a tumble dryer and i still couldnt see,i could only hear.My legs felt like they were paralised and i couldn't move them as much as i tried. My mum told me afterwards that my eyes were rolling back and i was moaning really loud.

the abulance was called and they couldnt see any reason why this could have happened as all my sugar levels and heart rate was normal. has anyone got any ideas what happened or has this happened to anyone while they were pregnant?

Maybe a seizure or heat stroke? Im sure you plan on taling to your doc right? Whatever that was it could not have been good for Baby to go through as well.

If its not that serious then you could have just fainted from overheating / exhaustion. Especially if you dont normally get out much in the hot weather.

I'm normaly inside with the a/c all day (28 wks pregnant now). I went out a couple weeks ago during the hottest part of the day to clean out the car, and within 5 or 10 minutes I was lightheaded and a bit nauseous (hadnt been nauseous since week 14). Could just be the heat getting to you. But call your OB hun!

That happnd to me as well, when I was pregnant with my son.
I was at work, about to fill a big tea pot with boiling water when I fetl funny. I felt like my arms and legs did not belong to me, then everything went black...I could hear everything and somehow, i don't remember how, but I put the teapot down and got out of the kitchen. I then came round to find myself being pinned up against the wall by one of my work mates, trying to stop me falling (which in hindsight was the opposite of what she shold have done, but she did her best).
When talking to my midwife, she explained that before 20 weeks your body is still getting used to the hormone levels. This sometimes causes a freak fluctuation in bloodpressure. If it happens again sit on an upright chair and hang your head as close to your kees as possible (not easy with an ever growing bump).
good luck

i have had that but not actually collapsed...its an awful feeling...i usually got it when i was out shopping with hubby!!
the hospital told me its due 2 the sugar levels and if they drop this is what happens all he suggested was making sure i never had an empty stomach and always keep a little snack/drink in my bag.
i could tell when one was coming on b cos id start feeling right shaky and sick then id go very hot and dizzy. i think if i didnt sit down when this happened i would of fallen down.
my hubby used 2 tell me i had gone really pale aswell...
touch wood i havnt had one for a couple of months (am 38wk 5 days).....so i hope u will overcome it soon aswell
take care xx

the exact same thing happened to me when i was 16 weeks gone, i was stood in the supermarket next thing i went really hot and flushed, pins and needles then everything seemed to turn white as if it was flashing then it was if my whole body shut off. next thing i knew of it was when i came round in a pile of videos id collapsed onto a shelf!!! i was perfectly fine after a few minutes but my head was all over the place at first, it happens for couple reasons...the increased blood volume primarily and the change in your blood pressure.
your blood volume increases by around 45% wen preg so sometimes the body struggles to pump it around especially to the brain at tmes which causes the light headedness nausea etc, also your blood pressure decreases at the start of pregnancy and continues until mid pregnancy where it starts to pick up again so at 18 week it will be at one of the lowest points.
just mention what happened to the midwife, but i was fine after it happened to me. just ensure you keep well hydrated and at a cool temperature, if out and about dont stand in one position for too long keep moving around as it encourages blood flow, another trick is to lie on your left side at night or lean to that side when sat as it maximises blood flow.
hope this has helped and good luck!!

I did that the whole time I was pregnant with my last child. My sugar was low. I could be in the store writing out a check and all of a sudden get hot, sweaty, and feel fainty. Talk to your doctor immediately - this is not something to play around with. This is your life and the life of your child.

If it somewhat is to be a candy bar with the size and shape of a waffle cone, 2 problems take place to me in the present day. a million. length would create a prohibitive packaging fee. And in case you decrease the size, then you relatively lose an excellent variety of the belief. 2.What cost would you place for some thing like this? Too high priced for the youngsters single industry? remedy theses problems and the belief sounds stable.

OMG if I were you I would take my self to hospital or the doctors and refuse to leave until they have done every test possible on me.

This could be very serious for you and your baby, I can honestly say this is not a regular sympton of pregnancy

Get to the docs now, its better than a doctor saying at your inquest if we had caught it earlier then she would have had a chance.

it could of been your blood pressure I'm very surprised you were not taken in to have test to make sure your OK
its common to get light headed and even pass out but some of the other symptoms may mean there is something more going on in there
get them to check for pre eclampsia

i do hope your ok

Get checked out by your OBGYN or GP. That isn't something i would be mucking around with. You could have a virus that caused the problem that would need treatment. Sounds similar to something my girlfriend had while pregnant, but her blood pressure was also raised.
