I was aking myself the same question, you should use moisturisers as muschas you could during pregnancy, to avoid the skin stretching. Of course buy the most recommended ones. You may avoid a lot of those. I have a little because a used the Butter of Karite. Excuse me for spelling, in french its "beurre de karité" imported from west Africe. Its the best.

Stretch marks be counted on your genetics, how a lot weight you income and how in shape you're before and by using your being pregnant. I gained approximately 35 pounds once I have been given pregnant and have not any stretch marks, yet i became a sprint obese to start with. I even have quite a few pals who have been relatively skinny while they have been given pregnant or maybe inspite of the indisputable fact that they did not income an excellent variety of weight, their stretch marks confirmed up as quickly as they gave delivery. Use the butter if it makes you sense better yet there is not any authentic thank you to attempt against them. Ask your mom if she have been given any and if she will bear in innovations while and purely save your self in nice condition.

The lotions and creams don't make that much of a difference. Stretch marks have to do with the elasticity of the skin under the layer that lotion would affect. I used all the "special creams" and ended up with stretch marks galore. My mother who had my sister when she was 15 also had stretch marks everywhere. There is a genetic component to how much your skin will stretch.

Now why the stars don't have them. They do, they have money to help treat them with certain laser surgeries and tummy tucks. They have makeup artists that can hide them. They pay people to make them look good. And it isn't that hard to hide stretch marks. Not every star walks around baring all, for example I don't think I have seen Catheriine Zeta-Jones with her tummy sticking out.

They are just like we are!

Sometimes, it is just genetics. One of my best friends has had 3 kids, did not use any lotion of any kind during her pregnancies, and does not have one single mark. Same thing with her mother and her grandmother (mom's mom).
grrrr!
With my first pregnancy, I got some but didn't use lotion religiously. This time around I use stretch mark cream from Palmer's and also their tummy butter formula. So far, some of my old ones have become slightly visible, but I have yet to get any new ones. Although, I am 32 weeks so who knows what will happen in the next few months.
My doctor told me that is also has to do with weight gain. If you do not gain excessive weight and do not have a lot of weight gain in a short time (keep it steady), then you may not get a lot or any at all.

Im sure they get all sorts of plastic surgery done to prevent and correct the problem.

Ive had several people ask me why I dont have any stretch marks. (7 mos preggy right now.) My guess is because I wasnt underwieght or overwieght when I became pregnant, Ive gained a little under a pound a week (slow, steady weight gain), and I also use Oil of Olay In-Shower Body Lotion *ultra moisture with shea butter* every day all over my body. I dont have one stretch mark more that I didnt have before I was pregnant.

Is that really fat baby hers? I'm not even trying to be mean. I was flipping through the channels and I saw Jordan with a huge baby on her lap...

A lot of people who get stretch marks use mederma. It makes scars less visible, so some stars might actually have had stretch marks, but used a scar reducing cream.

They might have them, but with airbrushed photos and digitally remastered photos, one can't really tell. Also, who cares. My husband suggested a few times that I get some lotion for my tummy to help prevent them, but I never thought about it when I was in a grocery or drug store. I saw the Palmer's at Motherhood Maternity, but I was too busy looking at much-needed bras. Besides, I'm proud of my stretch marks. They're from the joy and love of carrying this baby for six and a half months (eventually 9-10, of course).

There are lot's of really great creams out there with lots of vit E in them which can help and maybe prevent. But I think that it really is a case of how
lucky you are with the type of skin you have.
I have dry skin and suffer with eczema on occasion, and my stomach is like the London underground map lol.
My sister has very oily skin and therefore has no stretch marks - lucky cow lol

Most of the time it's called 'being a jammy so-n-so' or 'air-brushing' :)

Bio-oil and cocoa butter are good for stretch marks, but everyone's skin is different. If you have them already, chances are you'll get them when you're pregnant.

I like to think of them as badges of honor. Pregnancy, birth and child raising is a hard job. Wear those 'badges' with pride! :)

I had my first child 19 months ago, I dont have any stretch marks on my stomach, but i did use moisturisers every day without fail. And I didn't spend a fortune on them I used "Vaseline Intensive" and the one for pregnant ladies, cant remember the name it has cocoa butter in and a sillouette of a pregnant lady on the front, about £6.99 in Asda!
