I changed my party to Independent. Can I still vote in the primary election even though I might vote for a Democrat?

Nevada is a closed-primary state. This means that you must be registered in one of the 2 major parties to vote in their primaries. There are no other active minor parties that I know of. You can also vote all non-partisan offices, and ballot questions.

I would think that you could register as a Democrat to vote in the primary and then vote for whoever you want in the general election.

No, an independent cannot vote in either parties primary. If you switch to an actual 3rd party and they have a primary, you can vote in that primary.

I in lots of cases vote Republican and intend to vote Ron Paul yet i does not doubt that many will vote interior the Dem universal because of the fact the GOP has already crowned McCain. For those saying GOP electorate will %. Obama because of the fact he's extra "beatable", that isn't precise: each and every head-to-head ballot i've got seen exhibits him beating McCain. in case you choose the Donks interior the White abode you extra suited lean on the great Delegates to vote Obama. The polls i've got seen provide him 4-6% benefit. If nominee is Clinton, she the two wins via a million-2% (statistical lifeless warmth) or loses via comparable margin. meaning, she could win yet whilst your objective is the White abode better than a particular candidate then you somewhat're extra suited off putting your $$$ at the back of Obama.
