OK, now you have given a problem we can work with. if s=9, all you have to do is plug a 9 in the place of s in the formula.

so

A=9^2. (I THINK you can do that part by yourself...remember, exponent means the number times itself)

dont forget that you need your units..since s was in cm, your answer will be in cm^2 (or you can write as square centimeters)

TRY to do a bit for yourself before spending all your time asking...this particular problem..I guarantee that it took longer to type than it would have taken for you to just try it yourself.

Area of a square: A= s^2
A=(9)^2
=9*9
=81 sq. cm.

A = S to the power of 2
Since S = 9 cm

Therefore:

A = 9 cm to the power of 2

Thus: A = 81 cm.

the area of a sq. is it relatively is length squared so the size of one area is the sq. root of it relatively is area, so for this actual sq. it is 3. There are 4 factors on a sq. so 3*4= 12 cm
