Incidentally "Black" isnt original. Sorry to dissapoint you there. It is a frame by frame copy of a movie based on the life of Helen Keller. I forgot what that movies name was. As for the originality in Bollywood, well we're getting there ... there are a few writers who do have talent but the thing is most producers dont have faith in them. They think that by copying Hollywood they can fascinate the urban media much the same the original did. Unfortunately they're right. Half of the Bollywood audience watch movies to see fantasy violence, escapist songs and loads of sleaze. With that sort of an attitude an "original" hard hitting movie will be tough to find its place.

first of all, hollywood dont have no way of dressing, if so, the whole civilised world dresses like hollywood, why u just pointin out bollywood for out of all the others ?

secondly, the majority of movies have not been ''copied'', most have their own stories and the ones similar to those in hollywood are simply films using IDEAS and NOT copying.
i agree many films were str8 up copies and they were crap but i believe that bollywood isn't copying everything but simply expanding hollywoods films and giving the indian audience something to be entertained by, hollywood should thank bollywood since its expanding their ideas and let me state something, one bollywood film in particular called ''Munna Bhai MBBS'' is now currently beign remade by HOLLYWOOD! so now we could say hollywood copies bollywood too but that isn't the case, its like 2 companies who are basicly sharing ideas with eachother, not copying.

nice question dude...i hate bollywood too because they copy...u see hindi movie makers and actors did not have anything of naming themselves now because they r not brainy enough they copied hollywood and named themselves bollywood.....now because bollywood dont know what all movies to make and hollywood make good movies they feel jelous and want to make people think that they can beat hollywood but they can never..so they start copying...now u see e.t-extra terrestrial got copied by a movie called koi mil giya and die hard got copied by many movies

I dont know why?? Maybe because they r out of stories.. Their brain is not working anymore to think of new stories...

But whatever it is, I am not against their copying because this way atleast the middle class/poor people of india get to see good movies. I mean to say is that they copy good bollywood movies and make it in hindi, they extend a one and half hr movie to 3 hours by adding songs and mirch-masala and I love watching those movies. I dont watch english movies, so its a advantage for me that I get to watch those good movies in hindi.

Bollywood has copied a lot from south indian languages of Kannada,Telugu,Tamil and Malayalam. Currently Hollywood is their flavour.

It's basically Broadway musicals that sort of Inspire them I guess.I notice they alway turn a Action movie Into a Musical theatrical movie you may notice they always sing on a hill sometimes like they are on a set of the Sound of Music.
