If you are going to the zoo, you do not need to go to Busaras

The zoo is in the phoenix park, so getting the bus 25, 26, 66,67,68 69, all head west near the park.
These buses have stops on westmoreland street, near the old bewleys coffee shop.
the terminus is on pearse street, opposite the police station, they also stop on the quays outside Fitzsimons.

But you might find it handier to get a taxi, as the bus will leave you off just after hueston station,on Conningham road, which is a busy road to cross, and it's a 10 minute walk from there to the zoo. A taxi would have you all there in 10 minutes.

the zoo is a great day out, but please don't go to busaras, you are actually going in the wrong direction

I have walked to Bus aras from there its not far. As you are standing at the spire you can go to two ways across from clearys and follow the street with the james joyce statue straight down .
Or walk along the liffey at the o connell statue towards the ifsc and city hall you will pass under the dart line keep left and follow the road around and bus aras is there opposite the back of the customs house.
buses on the quays near o carrolls gift shop will take you there as well.

Ask someone in Bus Aras how to get to O'Connell Street, it's about five minutes away by foot, and when you get there just look for the spire, it's kind of hard to miss. You'll probably have to turn right once you reach O'Connell Street.

The handiest way is to walk along Abbey Street, where the Luas line goes. Follow the Luas (tram) line and it actually goes to Busarus. takes maybe 5 minutes to walk and you can't miss it because A. there's a busarus stop there and B. it's a big ugly building with lots of buses hanging around outside.
