I have not had a period since April 12, 2007. I have read information on endometriosis and I have a lot of the symptoms except for the pain being triggered by the mentrual cycle. I've been having severe abdominal pain and some constipation/gas pains. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Thanks!

You don't have endo... endo has to do with a menstrual cycle... if you haven't started yet, you can rule that out...

have you recently changed your diet, had any vaccinations or immunizations, changed birth control, had surgery, had intercourse...?

all these things and more can determine what it is that affecting you... see your physician if your symptoms continue, but i'd recommend some motrin and lots of water and a healthy diet... you can be undernourished... a lot of young women with a small frame have many difficulties with their menstrual cycles, if any at all, because lack of nourishment and their body structure...

You can't get a diagnosis from here - visit your doctor - they can investigate your symptoms, and give a realistic medical diagnosis. But to be honest, without the pain, that is the central symptom of endometriosis, it is unlikely that you are suffering from endometriosis.

Get is checked out....sounds like it has gone on long enough!

Hope it works out ok.

Dysmenorrhea ( no periods) can be caused by all kinds of problems and conditions. I assume you are not pregnant, right?!
If you are very thin or very athletic, you may lack the necessary body fat to store sex hormones.
Usually endometriosis causes abnormal, heavy bleeding full of blood clots which leaves you anemic and always tired.
Your best bet is to have a pelvic exam and a blood test to see what is causing your symptoms. Please make an appointment. You can visit Planned Parenthood for your care. They have great doctors and charge on a sliding fee scale.
Good luck!

It's probably not endometriosis. Endometriosis makes you bleed lots. You may be having a lot of pains because your period is so late. Go get checked by your doctor, though.

Is there some reason you are not talking to your own personal physician about this?

We are all amateurs and volunteers here. None of us has an M.D. behind out names. If we did, we couldn't give you medical advice over the Internet without an examination.

If our advice turns out to be faulty, you cannot sue the Internet for malpractice.

If you're not pregnant, you could be having a flare up of suppressed emotions from an old, past abuse that your body is tired of carrying around.

Why have you not seen a doctor about this if it has been going on this long?

That is the wisest thing for you to do at this time.
