Has anyone else found it is not as good at getting out stains as it is hyped up to be? I've been disappointed every time I've used it. Which brand do you prefer?

I've always used either Persil or Surf (whichever is on offer in Tescos!) and found them both to be quite good but I always treat stains with Vanish spray before washing.
Don't use Ariel unless it's really cheap and would never use Daz as I don't like the smell!

To be honest, I find that none of the brand leaders remove all the stains that they are supposed to. I use Sainsbury's bio tablets which I find is just as good as the brand leaders and if I have anything really stained I pretreat it with something like Shout stain remover.

Right....

Have you noticed the number of people with itchy and irritated skin or is having some kind of skin problem?

The enzymes in these detergents are not nice chemicals either and if they don't get washed out of your clothes, they can cause skin problems.

Washing at below 60 degrees isn't good for your skin as your clothes pick up all sorts of bugs and parasites and bacteria during general daily wear and washing below 60 degrees doesn't kill off the bacteria or bugs so you can end up getting skin problems from your clothes.

Every time my girlfriend washes below 60 degrees, I notice I sprout a load of spots in places like my shoulders, back and arms and side of my ribs where my clothes hang most against my body...

So washing powder isn't good for your skin...

i use the supermarket own brands now, not the cheapest one tho. i find it just as good as all the others, have tried quite a few as i have bought different brands when they been on offer, i just use the stain removing spray shout on tougher stains before putting in wash. i must admit i use one tab of a named brand when doing a black wash as the cheaper ones do fade the colour

Yes, In fact it turned a lot of my white clothes a sort of grey colour in the wash. NOT cool!!

I now use Fairy tablets or if those aren't available, Persil tabs.

They're way better and are more kind to sensitive skins!!
