I tried ipconfig /renew but it says "no operation can be performed while it has its media disconnected".

Well if you aren't connected to a network --- because you get a "media disconnected" error.. your IP doesn't matter you can't use it anyway! If you are connected and you are getting that error you aren't using the Windows System to connect you are using some other program on the wireless adapter!

You can assign IP manually to your NIC and the second way is that in your ADSL Router you must disconnect the connection of the specified NIC or disable the DHCP function.

I assume you are talking about the IP address assigned to your wireless router.

Log in to your wireless router by clicking
http:/192.168.1.1/
Type in your username and password.
Then you will have to dig through the tabs to find the one that shows a refresh button and your router's external IP address.
Press the renew or refresh button on that page.

you can if all your doing is running a local network,,, but if your going on the internet then the answer is NO
