The ONLY method 100% effective against pregnancy is abstinence.

You risk a chance of pregnancy even when on contraceptives. They are at most 99% effective.

Well, there are a LOT of pills she can take that are very effective in preventing pregnancy. She can take low dose or high dose birth controls pills. They essentially have the same effect, however, a lot of birth control pills make women nauseous or screw with their hormone levels.

If your girlfriend is a minor she should talk to her doctor, they have to keep it confidential, about this. Usually they can perscribe birth control without a parent knowing, so can a free clinic. Or at least that is how things are in California.
