I used to go under tools > folder options > show hidden files.
But "folder options" has just disappeared !! what happened? what else can I do?

go to control panel.look for folder options.its the same option you have under tools.
now it can be that you are accessing tools of IE instead of windows explorer or my computer.

1) Go to My Computer
2) Click on tools from the menu
3) Choose folder options
4) Click the view tab
5) Change the command from "do not show......" to "show hidden files and folders"
You'll see that your folder are visible , Unless you entered as a different user.

Check that you're logged in as an administrator

click on start, help, and type in.... hidden files
click on start, help, and type in ..... lost icons..
that's what help is for
