It is high time he plans to make way for new players and plan to retire before he is thrown out of the team.
if he sticks to play till 2011 it will be in his financial interest and not in the interest of the nation.

Sachin isn't going to retire just yet. He's going strong and the upcoming matches against England will give him a chance to make and break some more records as well as build on amazing statistics.
He is 34 years old, so is one of the eldest in the team. Usually at this age, players do consider retirement, but it's different in Sachin's case. When he is still playing so well, there is no need to look at age. Similarly, with Dravid and Ganguly - they are of similar age, but are the backbones of the Indian team.
2011 is only 4 years away but anything can happen by then. Teams change dramatically within 4 years, in performance and in terms of who is or isn't selected. At the moment, I think Sachin will play in that World Cup, I hope so anyway. But, as much as I dread thinking about it, in 4 years time so many new players will have arrived, and selectors may overlook a 38 year old Sachin.
With a player like Tendulkar, I think he and only he can decide when he should retire. But based on his impact on the sport, I think he is more than justified in staying for years to come.

He has not indicated any plans for retirement so it doesn't look like he is going to retire soon. Now about his playing in the world cup 2011 much will depend on his performance and the mood of the selectors. Personally I think that both Sachin and Ganguly should retire before that.

I think Sachin will play the next world cup in 2011....
He is still the best batsman in the world compared to the runs he as scored till now....And he will also have the edge as many great cricket players i.e Mcgrath,Lara,Shane Warne etc. have retired.....
Sachin Rocks!!

Sachin will be forced to retire before world cup becz the selectors, in the name of giving chance to youngsters, will drop senior players. He will be one of the commentators in TV for 2011 world cup.

He will definitely play the next world cup, especially as it is held in India.
May be soon after the world cup. His greatest ambition is to get India win the world cup again, while playing. So he will be looking forward to win the world cup and retire, like what Imran Khan did, like what Mcgrath did.....
