I have some notes - not sure if they are Greek or Cypriot. The writing is definitely in Greek. One is a 500 note and the other 100 note. I am going to Cyprus soon and wonder if I can use them. The writing on the top of the notes lookes something like: TPANEZA THE ENNAOEM EKATON

Do they look like any of these:

Cypriot pounds are written in Greek, English and Turkish, if it was Cypriot it would have said it on the bank note. Their denominations available are as follows: in coins 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, and in notes 1, 5, 10 and 20 pounds. As of January 2008 the new Cypriot currency will be Euro.

What you have are probably Greek bank notes. Not sure if you can exchange them for Euros, the current currency in Greece is Euro.

They are probably Greek and you can't use them anymore. There is a procedure that you could change them, but it's not worth it, they are worth like 2 euro.

Do you have one of these?

If yes, they are collector items now. Greece is using euro now and they have almost no value on the collector's market.
