It is illogical to think that.
Have you heard of the culture of poverty? Included in this "way of life" is the belief that one not only doesn't live an extraordinary life, but will not ever and can not do so. It is one of the cycles that must be broken in the mind of a poor class citizen, or they keep themselves down.
considering the large number of poverty stricken peoples in the world, I would conclude that too many people believe they do not live extraordinary lives.

This is hard question because to be common is a different definition throughout various parts of the world. The common life would have to depend as to where you live and what you would consider common. Typically when i think of someone who has a common life it is someone who lives in some type of shelter, be it house, apartment, etc. Someone who does something with their lives, as in going to work, school, w/e. However, the common life for me here in the u.s. is different for those who are for instance in a third world country where things are scarce and rare.
As for the second of your questions, that is also hard to answer because everyone is different in their own way, so as to be able to categorize it as it being logical to think that few think they do not live extraordinary lives is tough. However, i think the answer to this question is yes. logically yes it is. Realistically no though in my opinion, because there are so many people here that it is impossible to have a "few".......

Most of us think our lives are the norm; just an average person getting through the day, wondering what tomorrow will bring. Even when we inwardly acknowledge that some of the things we are lucky enough to see, do or be part of are perhaps an opportunity in a million, we don't see that as making our fundamental life extraordinary at all.....

The common life is marked by what's the usual in society. And yes it's very common. That's how it became common! And those people who have common lives might have something to do that is not so common, that most of us don't see. But for the most part, their lives are common. Those who lead extraordinary lives generally don't hide that fact. When one is a teenager, one has more of a desire to be like everyone else. In adulthood, that isn't so. Everyone wants to be unique. But most people are mostly like most other people.

The common life has become uncommon. Living within ones means (or below it) has become rare to the point of extinction. Consumerism is the order of the day. Then complaining because the ends won't meet. Logic says...they're doing it wrong.

The common life is common in the sense that we don't think about it. Not thinking about something is consenting to being common.

There is nothing common about life.
It is both extraordinary, and illogical, at the same time.
The strength lies in its essence, and its weakness is in that perception of same
