Seems like every other day you hear about how the White House just flat out refuses to obey court orders, defies Congressional committees, blocks investigations, and uses secrecy and claims of executive privilege to keep information secret, even from other branches of the govt. Even if I supported Bush/Cheney, I'd find it hard to justify such arrogance and power-grabbing. After all, my loyalty is to my country and democratic process before any politician/person. The outlines of a near-dictatorship sem to be forming and it's scaring the crap out of me. Yet, the average person seems oblivious...

Its grab of near dictatorial powers is dangerous to the Constitution and the separation of powers. I think the impeachment movement is gaining in momentum. It NEEDS to. This so called " war on terra " is a smoke screen.

I dont understand where your other answerers are coming from here.

I realise, as they point out, that every administration does this.
Does that make it right?
Does that make it something that this, and future administrations should be entitled to do?

Surely the blocking of any inquirey or investigation is virtual proof of wrong-doing.

If so called Democratic governments acted justly and honestly, they'd have nothing to answer for in the first place and there'd be no investigation to block.

Many administrations the world over act like this, though in varying degrees, but it should be remembered that it is the Government that runs a country, not the administration, and the Government is the whole. Not just the elected party.

have broken every law having to do with Presidential power
from the hanging chad to the lies of WMD and the help
sent to Katrina victims when the price of gas jumped and

U Americans voted him in for a second term!

Which without doubt (in-concert with his Fathers presidency) has been a complete and utter worldwide disaster!

Many Nations did not back his nomination / wanted him back on the world international political stage.

He and The UK's Prime Minister Blair were / are indeed as you so aptly describe them.

2nd terms in office should be disbanded & the criminality of both Bush and Blair should be investigated to the full and both of them imprisoned when judged guilty!

If you wanna see Dictatorship, go check out what Chavez is doing that Bush and Cheney are not doing, and that is that Chavez is taking over TV Stations and now allowing Anti-Chavez stuff on the air.

Yet in America, no one is going to Jail for Anti-Bush movies and programs (do you know who Michael Moore is? that man is getting rich though capitalism on preaching anti-Bush hatred and Bush has never stopped Moore from this).

Don't think it"s what it's suppose to be.
Just having communication problems with misinterpretation, miscommunication, communication failures and communication break down in getting the message through.
With lost sense of direction and purpose of life.

The Bush administration is making use of a part of the constitution given to every President and used by nearly every one of them, including Bill Clinton. Your "near-dictatorship" is a figment of a liberal's imagination. Just another scare tactic used by Democrats to slam the president with.

It is arrogant to refuse to play along with the political games of your opponents? Of course they are going to block the Democrats "investigations". It would be suicidal not to fight back and defend yourself.
