Word equation

Zinc + Hydrochloric acid ---> Zinc Chloride + Hydrogen

Symbol equation

Zn(s) + 2HCl(aq) ---> ZnCl2(aq) + H2(g)

The hydrogen effervesces away and the zinc chloride dissolves leaving bare iron.

Alternatively you could also anodise the zinc coated iron in an electrolytic cell

Ionic equation - at the anode

Zn(s) ---> Zn2+(aq) + 2e-

The zinc ions go into solution leaving bare iron

You're welcome

Zn + 2HCl ----> ZnCl2 + H2

But it will also react with the iron...
