I bought matching secondhand wedding rings on ebay, but the one is not as shiny as the other. They are white and yellow gold.

It is clean, but not shiny. How do you buff it up to shine again.

I tried brasso. Who has a secret remedy that they will share please?

Take both to a jewelry store and have them do it. They probably won't charge.

This is it, forget all you read before and don't spend a dime buying anything...

Remember years ago when a metal plate was selling for $30 and it advertised to be the best metal cleaner? Well, it was, but the chemistry behind it is so available to everyone that after an exposé, the guys could not profit anymore, because you can create it at home.

Take a container, and put hot water in it. Take a piece of *aluminum foil*, put it in the water with a pinch of baking soda. Then add your rings. Instantly, you'll see them shine. You can brush off deposits that aren't easy to come off but they'll be off by themselves after a good soak in hte "magic solution."

Disolve 2 Sterident tablets (used for cleaning dentures) in half a cup of water, put your rings in and leave for about 24hrs then rinse. Otherwise using some toothpaste and an old soft bristled toothbrush to scrub them with should make them shine again. Make sure you wash the t/paste off thoroughly straight after so is doesnt go hard in any crevises.
