it depends on what caused it or the situation surrounding it- a few hours to a day or two .... longer if the situation is something that affects family/lifestyle/finances/etc etc or another backlashing from the psycho sister''inlaw'',
i try and keep my chin up and smile (through a grimmace) ....

It takes 2 to 3 hours for me but sometimes it's easy to recover just in few minutes. It depends on the type of depression. I feel more depressed when someone misunderstands me or says something bad about me in my absence.

around two and a half weeks up to four months
(we talk real depression here, the one that is not related to a situation, such a feeling down because you missed a test or you're been left...)

Depends on the severity of the episode and the help you get. This most recent is still in the works and it's been several months.

As soon as I slap the person who insulted me, I have a surge of adrenaline and am back to happy times.
