I disagree. Turquoise does not come in 'many' colors. Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium, Fakes are detected by gemologists using a number of tests, relying primarily on non-destructive, close examination of surface structure under magnification. Your best bet is to go to a jewelery maker, who uses such gems. Theres one near my home in HI, USA. Works at a place called Gemfire.
