I've heard from the longest time that the war in Iraq is for oil so many times my ears hurt and I've asked "how so" until my mouth is sore. So I'm trying to take an open-minded approach to the matter, where can I find legitmate analysis of war-profeteering, particularly oil. Backed by a reputable and fairly non-biased source?

would you count the US government biased?

if not:

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_imports/current/import.html

that´s how much oil we import, and what the production looks like from other countries.

Iraq, not even one of the top 5..... but most people who say iraq war for oil are ignorant and don´t read....

As soon as I can get the reports from My Old computer I can get some sources.
However let me say this. The USA is directly concerned and therefore active in the Free Flow of Commodities to the Free Market and that Includes OIL. Saddam had expressed wishes to use oil to brow beat the western world by getting prices to $300 per barrel. This would have crushed Most of the free world market economies and killed Millions of Poor. How likely is it that the USA the worlds Laargest donator of Food and Medicine could afford to Harvest and produce extra tonnage of these at those inflated costs? We could not the USA would survive but the Billions in aid would dry up and leave places like Africa to starve to death. Like it or not the Liberals are fighting against the very man that has the bst chance of saving what they claim is a concern of theirs, the poor.

If you wish to make an open-minded decision, look at the bill Bush keeps trying to pres the new Iraq government to pass.

You know, when you are helping someone figure out how to develop and operate a fledgling Democracy, the one thing that is on top of everyone's list of things to get done, is a "divvy up the oil" law. /end sarcasm
