The Statue of Liberty is a huge sculpture that stands in New York harbor to welcome immigrants from Europe. (See my avatar, which I have not changed since I started on Y!A.) It was given to the people of the United States by the people of France. The plinth (the base on which she stands) was paid for by coins collected from the school children of the United States. She is hollow inside and you can climb stairs inside her and look out of windows in her crown.

It is a statue of the Goddess of Liberty. I use it for my avatar because I am a witch and this is my primary deity.
