Have you reinstalled Win XP? If that is the case, you also need to reinstall your drivers.

Make sure you have the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. Make sure you installed the software for the webcam In Yahoo! Messenger - click on "Messenger" menu on it - click on "Preferences" - select "Webcam" - click on 'Camera Source'

Is your video adapter OK with cam driver software? and flash player installed? ,you also need proper speedy Internet connection at least 2 mbps to broadcast your web cam as streaming video.
For more info. and support click 'My Webcam' under 'Messenger' menu and click the link in blue text 'Get Help with Webcams' or read the 'Webcam Help' under 'Help' menu of 'My Webcam'
Click the "Contact" menu located on the IM window and select the "Invite to View My Webcam" option.
