I see the two of them tied together in a tight knot. You can pretend to have integrety alone, but i think that honesty is the building bloch that integrety is built on. I think honesty is possible to have without integrity. But that usually isnt the case. Honest people almost always develope integrity.

I think that you can't have integrity without honesty. You can have honesty without integrity. So the most important thing in a relationship is Integrity. That is a whole self and not just one part of a relationship.

Many times the two are synonymous. But honesty is generally about what you say (or don't), while integrity is about the whole range of your moral trustworthiness. Many times honesty is NOT the best policy, especially if it will hurt the other person unnecessarily. For example, say one partner goes to a party with an old school chum, and during the course of that party gets involved in some necking and whatever with someone else. Sobering up the next day, he feels guilty. But he also knows he didn't do anything which would bring home a nasty disease, did not spend money they could not afford, and generally has not YET done anything which will impact on his partner. Honesty in confessing this indiscretion would serve no purpose other than to damage the trust they have between them. Integrity recognizes that he must carry the burden of this guilty secret and not share it with his partner. But integrity also recognizes that the episode was fraught with danger and should not be repeated.

They go hand in hand. You cant have a relationship without honesty because then you would question the other persons every move, and the relationship would fall apart. And integrity, doing the right thing when no one is watching, if you dont have integrity then you will cheat and the relationship will fall apart. Honesty and integrity together are what make a relationship work. because without one you will not have the other.

Though both are interrelated and generally will mean the same thing , I think, that in the useage parlance one can find a subtle difference ..
Honesty , generally, would refer to a person`s individual trait. His quality. His characteristics.
Integrity, on the other hand , would refer to the individual`s interaction with the world. Clumsily stated , a person can be honest to himself too. But can he have integrity to himself? A honest person would be seen as a person of honesty and integrity.

honesty is the precursor to integrity.
however, u can't be honest every timeur integrity fails. in this case, honesty cannot make up for the lack of integrity.
in a relationship, integrity will mean the person has their convictions strong about their relationship with me and even if they are dishonest with me, it may be because they love me and do not want to hurt me.
