Kids trying to blame someone else for the stories their parents telling them causing mental/emotional problems.
I can fully appreciate the ordeal causing mental trauma for the people experiencing the evils committed by the Nazis, but a person can't ride a bus because it reminds them of a transport that they never even experienced???
come on!

This reminds me of that guy trying to sue for millions over a pair of pants breaking down and crying about them.

I don't argue that their parents went through a horrific experience and that there would be some 'imprinting' as a result. That said, I have a few questions:

1. If 4% to 5% require treatment, that would be 20,000. Yet only 4,000 joined the suit. Does that mean the other 16,000 are not impaired enough to file suit? If it's truly 1% that are incapable of steady employment, just how far 'outside the norm' is that figure? I have no idea what the norm would be, just questioning the percentages.

2. What responsibility did, and should, the parents take in the matter? Isn't it a parent's responsibility to 'filter' what they tell their children, based upon the child's personality and emotional maturity?

I don't mean to be cold or unfeeling. I'm just trying to look at the children, parents and government to figure out where lines of accountability fall. More questions than answers, so I'll just quit babbling now. Interesting.

Definitely.

However People who do suffer severely traumatic situations do often imprint their children with the memories and the suffering. For example, my father, a Vietnam vet who survived a helicopter crash and was the sole survivor would have severe flash backs and his screaming and violent out bursts colored my early life.

Being told over and over again of the pain the suffering and reminded that it happened only 60 years ago may make some people, particularly the immediate decedents of the traumatized person an unknowing victim of their parents trauma.

But I think that's a major stretch and falls more to the parents inability to separate their past with their children's lives.

unfortunately the world is more and more litigious. no one wants to face their problems, they just want compensation for tings beyond or current control.

OMG! what a crock a shite. Reminds me of blacks in the US saying they need reparations for slavery that was abolished some 100+ years ago. Same goes for the Indians here, syaing their ancestors some 200+ years ago suffered and their people have continued to suffer ever since.......

This is what liberalism is reducing this world to. A bunch of whine @ss, entitlement babies that think government should take care of them. They have totally lost grips with reality, personal responsibility and accountability.

Reminds me of the schools where the liberal teachers don't allow any winners in sports. Because they are all winners, awww, I feel so warm and fuzzy now.

yeah that scene in Star Wars when the Empire froze Han Solo, screwed me up for life. It messed me up so bad, I can't even open a freezer for myself. And if you think that is bad, you should see what happens when someone throws a snowball at me!
You think I could get a few million out of Steven Spielberg for my condition?

I especially like how the governmetn says"no money will switch hands." Of course not, just a case of that government wanting more money.

I don't know. I'm sure there are some stigmas that came about because of their parent's experiences in concentration camps. I mean, I guess I see on the grounds of a child growing up in an abussive family, then grows up to be an abuser.

They might have a valid point, but I don't think the German government should have to pay for it. This is actually kind of a grey area for me.
