I too am discouraged by what I see on both parties, but a 2-party system is the only way to make sure a small group doesn't end up running the country. A third party not only rarely wins, but they often throw elections one way or another. I've decided to register as a Democrat as a statement, but I WILL vote for the best candidate no matter what party.

I have been looking for someone to throw my support behind ever since the candidates began announcing their candidacy. Unfortunately, as of now I still haven't found a candidate from any party who I would feel comfortable supporting. Every single one of them seems to spend more time bashing the "opposition" rather than telling America what they would do to improve our country. If it stays like this until the election, I fear the only choice I will have is that of the lesser of two evils, so to speak.

I agree. i'm a dissatisfied Democrat although and that i nevertheless see a distinction. the two events are offered via the great wealthy good 10th of a million%. they actually have no determination in this, in the event that they like to get elected they could take money from people who've it to offer. Billionaires have extra to offer. the version I see is that Democrats introduce costs for marketing campaign finance reform. they are tremendously solid costs which could administration the quantity of administration the wealthy have over our government however the Republicans vote them down. it somewhat is the version I see, the Democrats are offered and could prefer to alter it collectively as the Republicans are chuffed as hogs.

I was very pissed off the Democrats didn't stop funding the war. The should have done it immediately, clearly and without hesitation. That is why they won, and why they could have 70% of the American public on their side.

But they keep compromising with Bush - whom 70% or more the people can't stand. They are just afraid of him and the money interests behind him I guess.

I am glad the Harry Reid is finally going to try to pull the troops out. It is funny: they are fighting over ending a war they fund! Tell me its hard to be a Democrat.

It is time to take control of the parties back again. Instead of letting old establshed families, like the Kennedy clan, control local politics people need to get together and remove those who have led both parties into the arms of special interest groups. it will take time but only by starting at the bottom can the corruption of the parties be cleaned up.

Many people are avid supporters of their party, like me, but have valid points to their arguments. Many people are avid supporters to their party, but don't do their research and therefore are left to argue with petty hypothetical questions and attacks.

Ignore the idea of 'party:' look at each issue and candidate, and vote for them by where they stand as opposed to your own morals, not by their party. When you're in a voting booth, disregard the idea of Democrat and Republican.

The 2 party system is a joke, it is the old divide and conquer trick. the 6 richest men don't care which party gets elected all they care about is the winner is securely in their back pocket.

Vote for the person that has proven they uphold the constitution and isn't in any PAC's back pocket.

Notice I don't bash either side nor name names.

Yes, Loofa, you are the only one disillusioned with the political parties. The rest of us have been mind numbed by a biased, left wing, liberal press that touts the accomplishments of idiots and condemns the efforts of anyone who demonstrates self reliance.

Alternatives?? Don't bother with the what the party said. Do your own research. Check the voting records. Look at what the DID not just what they SAY. Vote accordingly.

I can't answer for you - but, I happen to like my Senators. And, they share my similar views... The congress will continue in a kind of stalemate until there are enough Dems to override presidential 'vetoes.' Do ya get my drift, pardner?
The "do nothing" congress has been replaced with those who try to get something done - to no avail, as long as there are not enough votes to override the p.Resident's vetoes!
