Maddy Potter?

What's that? Maddy posters to be inserted into the next Harry Potter book on release this Saturday?
Like we don't know what Maddy looks like or who she is!
Maybe Gerry is trying to catch over-rated J K Rollend up with income from over hyped manufactured rubbish.
I would boycott the pair of them.
Question is, is this just another scam to keep the focus away from the McCann's child negligence guilt?

cvjose:

I cannot abide plagiarism - which is all the Potter books are, and writen by a consortium. You really buy into someone scribbling on the back of menus in a cafe? LMAO!
Gerry McCann is a self-publicist determined to make himself look th good guy - except he just digs that hole a little bit deeper each time

Happy M:

Ho there Happy Murcia. Yet another cereal packet giveaway jaunt. The message is folks, Gerry is a real cool guy and not a neglecftul arrogant money grubbing failed parent.

Waggy:

Well, many many many of us have been suspicious right from Day1 )or maybe 2) - soon as we heard they'd left teh kids alone, we wondered why it was they were making such a song and dance about totally unrelated stuff. Their child was missing, and it seemed we cared more than they did. Still does.

Faith:

"Maddy Potter" is a newspaper headline today. Can you see where I am coming from now?
Gerry is the Max Clifford of Abduction.
If you are happy to have let the McCanns babysit your kids that night just let me know, eh?

"As the McCanns don't stand to gain financially from this..."

You are joking aren't you?

WIZ:

Spot on!
The Headline I think is from today's Mirror.
Apparently, each new waste of a tree, sorry, tome, was to have a bookmark inserted with Maddy's face and details on it - but that idea was scrapped as it was deemed a corruption of children's rights eductaion or whatever.
So I think there's posters instead. If you want one.
If you find Gerry nauseating then linking it with J K Rollend is just compounding matters, that's two raking in money from hype.
GO LOOK FOR YOUR DAUGHTER GERRY! ON YOUR FEET! KNOCK ON DOORS.

Miss Principles:

That's right. They've cheapened what should be a very sad affair from Day 1.
It is totally inappropriate behaviour - starting a PLC when your child is missing?
HUH??? How mercenary is that????

Hairy Cookie:

That's what I thought.
This is about Gerry, not Maddy.

Jones:

Thanks for that, Jones. You're quite right. And thank you for the links.
It really is all quite bizarre. If we think what we do, what do psychologists and Social Services think?

2007-07-16 20:14:31 · update #9

QBF:

Yep. It's appalling. Inappropriate, callous, vulgar, distasteful, incongruous and do they really think no one knows who Maddy is by now? Nothing to do with Maddy AT ALL, and ALL to do with Gerry "Oh look at me being ever so caring now it's too late but what a good parent I am, now doing all this albeit to assuage my guilt and hopefully deflect he attentions of Social Services" McCann.

Mysterious:

I think JK will have to write an 8th book, titled:
"Harry Potter and the Riddle of Gerry McCann's Wallet"
or "Harry Potter and the Mystery of Why Social Services haven't put The Twins in Care"

Jack H:

Gerry makes a great Catholic. Him and the Pope are opening a new Maddy store called "Hypocrites R Us"

You just know these McCann's have trophy kids don't you.
Sort of "Holiday accessories" and only born to embellish their 4 times a year Round Robins. No wonder Gerry writes a blog, he just has to tell us all about how wonderful he is, and how lucky Kate is to have him and something to do with a missing child or other. I forget.

Heather:
Terrific answer. The kids won't really care - they are just glad it's not them, and as I have always suspected, J K Rollend aint what she purports to be.
It has always been a marketing consortium I reckon and I reckon her books are ghost-written and she's the "Front". It's all too mawkish for me, the likes of her and Gerry McCann.

Jo:
Neither do I, if any good at all!

Sammie:
Precisely/ Many say the same on here - utilise your time actively searching Gerry - not these bolt on too late OTT circus attractions. Ghastly man.

Rosie:
Hi Rosie. They are dreadful people aren't they, the McCanns. I think you are right, they make great Bogey Men, - actually being obnoxious helps of course!
As for unfortunate series of events, yeah, that and total child neglect.

Ysanne:
That's a good point, and I think that builds on what we were told about the publishers withdrawing the bookmark idea. Yes, well said.

Lucy:
I know, I am a bit cynical, but in these days of "manufactured stars" and celebs have my doubts about the origins of the Harry Potter stories.
Apart from the stories being lifted from earlier Tolkien and Terry Pratchett ideas it's not even very interesting because it's been done before. Just like Team McCann, Harry Potter is all show and no action, designed to exploit as many people as possible by liberating their pockets. Not impressed with either I am afraid

"Gerry is just jumping on the Harry Potter bandwagon thats all! He saw pound signs."
Exactly! And spot on about the ex-HitlerYouth Pope.

Hiya CT! How's it going? Yeah, even trying to ruin me sodding breakfast now!

Hi Daisy, that's right. All this publicity has just heightened awareness of Gerry. And what a morose grim calculating edifice he presents. It doesn't make me think of Maddy because I am just infuriated with this self-gratified neglectful Father who is marketing his lost child.
A disgrace.

Bleeding heart JK would have you beleive she was a lowly single mother writing her book in a back street cafe. She fails to make it known that this cafe is in the most affulent area of Edinburgh, just down the road from the £1m home she lived in at the time!

Its another empty gesture from JK to show she is a 'real person' and cares. It is an empty gesture from the McCanns to keep the wolves from the door. Is there any event this family aren't prepared to ruin for normal people? Shrek at the cinema, going to buy a book some kids have been waiting on for months, a football match - they are inflitrating everything and putting parents in very difficult situations. And at the end of the day none of these gestures are making a blind bit of difference.

Gross and sick.

You know i am mighty tired with the useless publicity .. what if i do not want pictures of Maddie with my kids book?

This mass publicity is being forced upon us and i for one think it is a sham ...

I desperately want Maddie found as we all do .. but it is so annoying that team mccann can only think of popping in inserts in books ...

What infuriates me even more is Gerry hob nobbing with the stars to get free publicity .. when he has a big fund which enables him to do something more constructive than putting flyers in books ..

He is using peoples good nature and it is not on .. yes i know there is a missing child here ... why can not something constructive and worth while be done over in Portugal like sweeping the areas again .. employing professionals .. search teams ...

Lets face it the antics of team mccann have been very self centred and 98% of these flyers will not even be looked at and be thrown away

I had read a while back that they asked JK Rowling themselves to put book marks in her books. She said she would so maybe they figured she would do anything so they made this suggestion. You have to remember the McCanns seem to have some pretty important people helping them. Maybe JK Rowling thought someone would destroy her publicly if she refused. "Excuse Miss Rowlings could you put Madeleines picture in your book" Miss Rowlings, " No I do not think that is fair to all missing children"

skynews headline; JK Rowling refuses to put little Catholic Missing girls photo on her book.

I think the McCanns still do have alot of people that feel sorry for them and feel they made a mistake out there. Lets not forget they did kiss the hand of the infallible Pope.

note:this is only a thought ..notice I never said fact.

Yes you heard right. Another publicity stunt. Anything to draw attention away from themselves. After all their is some fishy going about with Gerry and Kate and I can't help thinking they know more then they are letting on. They are so full of secrets. The only place they should really be is with Social Services. The way they are going on Madeleine will never be found.

kate says here

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6901845.stm

-"Madeleine has the first three Harry Potter books and first three DVDs. Like most other children the world over, she loves the stories."

Quote from the Mirror forum:
Anyone with an interest in Harry Potter knows that its the seventh and final book
If Madeleine loves the stories enough to have 3 books and 3 videos before she was 4 , then I'd have thought that her parents would have known a bit about it.-presumably they are the ones reading the stories or sitting with her to pause and explain things as she watches these quite scary films -then again, maybe not.
It seems a big leap from 'the we're going on a bear hunt' picture book to Harry Potter
Totally unsuitable for reading to a 3-4 year old.

Looks like a totally unsuitable place to take your three very small children to, only to leave them alone, out of sight and out of earshot in an unlocked apartment every evening, while you go to a tapas bar

The Catholic Church is very against the Harry Potter books. I also dont beleive for a second that Maddy read the books. At 3 years of age???
Gerry is just jumping on the Harry Potter bandwagon thats all! He saw pound signs.

In a letter dated March 7, 2003 Cardinal Ratzinger thanked Kuby for her "instructive" book Harry Potter - gut oder böse (Harry Potter- good or evil?), in which Kuby says the Potter books corrupt the hearts of the young, preventing them from developing a properly ordered sense of good and evil, thus harming their relationship with God while that relationship is still in its infancy.

"It is good, that you enlighten people about Harry Potter, because those are subtle seductions, which act unnoticed and by this deeply distort Christianity in the soul, before it can grow properly," wrote Cardinal Ratzinger.

Isnt Cardinal Ratzinger the Pope now?

The McCanns obssession with making headlines is extremely weird and unhealthy - I cannot comprehend what they think 'keeping her in the headlines' is going to do in terms of catching person who took her or help police with the investigation. If anything the paedo is probably really enjoying the attention the case is getting.

just a suggestion
the british government has announced that it needs to step up our space research programme or risk falling behind in the space race,(is there a position behind last)?
the americans have announced their intention to return to the moon, could we not therefore take advantage of "the special relationship" combine the two, and send "team mccann"into space?
they've as much chance of finding the poor wee lassie alive up there as there is on earth, and we would be shot of the hypocritical wasters

It's disgusting that they have turned the disappearance of their wee girl into a media circus, "wannabe celebs" they want everyone in the world to look for Madeleine but What are they doing swanning around enjoying all the attention from celebs. I cant stand the sight or sound of Gerry McCann

The trouble with the whole 'Maddie' thing is it is making out that Maddie is the only child of any consequence that ever goes missing. My question is, with all the publicity that went out quite early on in the disapperance and still nothing has been found other than heresay and stabs in the dark - does that not strike you as a little suspicious?
