The latest video showing Osama Bin Laden seems to be from footage from several years ago but that was never released until now.

Note: There have been plenty of videos with Ayman al Zawahri, Osama's #2 (and hander) and those videos are recent and shown all over the world, not just in the USA. My friends in the UK see them on Al Jazeera over there, they are also shown in Germany and in Latin America that I knw of directly because I know people that live there and ask such questions and also I travel. The thing is that Osama is no longer alongside Ayman.

I believe that you are right and yes, the videos are usually news all over the world not only in the USA where President Bush is supposedly in total control of all media according to some of the loonies in Yahoo. Or is he also in control of Al Jazeera in all the other countries of the world? And if Bin Laden was dead, they would not let anybody know about it, they would just quietly bury him and let the world continue to believe that he is eluding us, anyhting alse would be a loss for them and an indication that maybe Allah wasn't so much on their side afterall.

There are three possiblities...
1. He is alive and in good health.
(Problem then becomes 'why he hasn't shown up recently')
2. He is alive but looks like @$$ and they don't want him to be on TV because it would mean Al Queda is weak.
3. He is dead and No. 2 isn't sure what to do. So he keeps coming up on TV and hoping people will adopt him eventually as the new leader...and slowly forget about Bin Laden. No. 2 is simply stalling.

I think he could be. It would be in the best interest of his Al Queda friends to not let it out if it were the case. He is the leader and his death ( in any other way than in martyrdom ) would be bad for their movement. If he were martyred they could rally around him, but if he died of kidney disease, they could not use him as their figurehead. He might also be very sickly, and a man with his wealth and connections could stay in some country estate with a private doctor to attend to him, as long as his friends were bringing in his necessities. Also what if he completely shaved and donned western clothes and sunglasses, would he be so easy to recognize?
He could be hiding out in South Korea or China for all we know.
What makes people think that Bush is not playing it cool about Bin Laden in the media because they are circling him without him knowing it and are ready to pounce on him. If I were the president I certainly would not be telling the media, and thus the world and my enemies, how I was going to deal with my enemies. It astounds me that people think the Administration would tell them when they are going to get him.
If there are videos closer to elections, it is because Al Queda wants to influence American politics.

avail: So true! Methinks you are on to something, there. It is simply astounding how all of a sudden (near election time) there is an 'attack' or threat of 'attack' or, something spectacular, which once again, instills fear in the American people. You know, like the 2004 elections... hmm?

If Bin Laden was dead, we would definitely know about it. I am sure the gov. would take any credit they could for his death if that was the case.
The reason you haven't seen any videos is because the gov. doesn't spend much time on Bin Laden anymore.
Which makes me wonder why no one ever questions this issue...it makes me mad to know that this man who is responsible for the deaths on 9/11 has been completely forgotten and all of our attention has been put on a country that had absolutely nothing to do with the tragedy.
Bush fans...you have been duped, but you are too stupid to know it.

Don't fool yourself; this is all just a game! Bin Laden is having the time of his life and is calling the shots from his hideout. President Bush wants you to believe the hype on Bid Laden but that is just what it is "HYPE!

well his last video, was just released because bush is still trying to keep fear levels high to support his foreign policy, sort of like the "gut feeling" and that "taliban" on tv in pakistan threatening america. osama is alive and well in saudi arabia. the royals are protecting him in exchange for good behavior. his family now has him under control.

I wonder if Bin Laden uses UPS or FedEx to mail those videos. And where in the cave does he plug in that VCR?
