Anything that is not dripping with sauce and
that you do not have to use your fingers to eat.
Pretty simple.
Good luck.

If you're at a homestyle restaurant, try something like meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Italian restaurant you're going to aim toward lasagna or a grilled dish that doesn't come with spaghetti on the side.
Avoid soups. Salads are okay if you're careful and don't mind cutting it up a bit. Breadsticks are good. Biscuits are crumbly. I disagree with those who said rice because sometimes it falls off the fork at your mouth and looks like it fell OUT of your mouth.
Another option to consider... and I used to be totally crazed about this, so I know where you're coming from... is to go the safe/obvious route and just get food that you're MEANT to eat with your hands, but that doesn't make a mess that's out of control.
This would include steamed shrimp, Alaskan King Crablegs, fried chicken, hush puppies, french fries, raw veggies and dip, etc. If you're aiming to be demure and conservative, go with the non-messy route. If you want to be sexy and casual and approachable, do finger food.
Also, if you go to one of those Japanese Steakhouses where they cook the food at your table, that's good because everything is relatively bite sized. Just another thought...
