If you travel the cheapest hostels in eastern Europe, you might be able to get by with $ 20 a day.
That is self catering and not going out for drinks and sports, just doing the free or cheap museums.

If you use the hotels in western Europe you might need $200 a day.
You may have a little money for sightseeing and eating out if you choose your hotels right.

So it is impossible to say unless you provide a little more info.

Easier is to buy a good guidebook and work out what you expect to use from that. But add 20% to any price in even the most recent guidebook, as prices always rise and the cheapest rooms are always gone when you ask for them.
I like and trust the Lonely Planets series.

There are a few other good sites out there as well. Google them.

It depends where you go.

Where you live ( different countries have different rail offers etc)

People usually say aim for about £800 a month. More in big cities. Less in the cheaper countries.

Plane ticket - again - depends where you are.

Backpack - from £50 - £150
Hostels - can range from £8 - £20
And then there is insurance and things...

Check out that site. It's good
