Oh, my yes, this boomer remembers them well. I had no idea they still had those....according to some of the responders to this question!! My experiences were in the hey day of drive ins....back in the 1960's. I saw so many....I think one was King Kong (the first King Kong, not the remakes.) Some dinasaur horror movie, too. I was a kid and every time we would go...with my parents and even later on dates...I would freak out, imagining that any minute some giant head is going to pop up from behind the screen, or amongst the forest over to the left of the screen! I also saw the original Pink Panther there, and um...the Exorcist (in later years.) Also, they would have firework display every July 4th, following the feature movie, and that was cool...and a tradition!

They don't have them in our area anymore, haven't for many years. The closest one now is a 3 1/2 hour trip down state. One of the movies I watched at the drive-in when I was a kid was the very first Star Wars (actually number 4 in the series). It was really cool watching it on the big screen while eating buttered popcorn sitting on a blanket next to the car. Then between movies watching animated dancing popcorn boxes, hot dogs, burgers, soda cups, and candy bars! What great memories!!

I live down the street from the drive-in. I can pick up the movies on my home stereo.
The last time I went though, I don't remember what movie it was. It was a few years ago.

Yes I do. Years ago when I was kid, there was this Drive In Flea Market in the town where I used to live. I don't remember what movie I seen there, but the theater isn't there anymore. It's sad because I had lots of memories there.

There's a drive-in at the edge of our town. I just watched Shrek 3 there.
