Because the 7th and last book is coming out on the 21st, the latest installment in the movie franchise is being shown, and have you ever heard of Harry Potter mania?
Besides, Harry Potter is a book. If 80% of the questions on this category is about it, it just tells you how many people are agog about the book. If that fact irks you, ask other questions not related to Harry Potter and top the 80%. Oh my, you'd lose a lotta points there!

Because Harry Potter is a book and it is a book category. Not just that, but the new, and last, Harry Potter book comes out on Saturday and everyone wants to know facts and websites and posts and rumors and everything else before they read the final edition of the greatest fiction book about wizards that ever lived!!!!!

Greetings! As you know, Harry Potter has become a phenomenon in the world. I cannot think of a storyline that has created this much of a stir all over the world. This Friday night/Saturday Morning, Harry Potter's very last book is coming out.
JK Rowling, much like Stephen King, has taken primary characters and found ways of "killing" them. So now that the last book is nearing the sales date, there is tremendous numbers of people, both young and old who want to figure out who will die and what will happen to Harry Potter. I, too am a Harry Potter fan (in fact, my whole family is, and they are all grown) and we will have two or three books in circulation in our household by Saturday morning.
That is probably why you read so much about it. Yes, there are lots and lots of other books to discuss. What suggestions would you like to discuss?
Take care.

Ha ha ha "Harry Potter and other books." That is a good one. I do agree with you; there are other (and dare I say better) books than Harry Potter.
Afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but here is a star for making me laugh.

Harry Potter is still a book, however. During the da Vinci Code phase, I'm sure 79.45% of questions were about Dan Brown and the book. Just like if a major news story happens, the Current Events category is probably flooded with questions about that particular event.
Just float through it for about a week longer. It's no big deal.

because there are rumors going around that harry dies or which of the two main characters die and everyone wants to know who will die. I agree that it is annoying and if they were smart at all they would type in "Harry Potter" to the search engine and a million questions just like theirs would come up...

Because about 80% of the questioners in this category have nothing better to think about than who is going to die and post here about their "sources" and theories and spoilers so that they make certain that absolutely nobody gets any enjoyment out of the book whatsoever when it actually does come out. The sad part will be that when it comes out, about half of them will flip to the back page, read the ending then never read another book again. When the Da Vinci Code came out, there was no such spoilers and junk before the book came out -- there was intelligent discussion AFTER it came out regarding its' content. Nobody came here and said "my sources tell me Mary Magdelene did it" or "Spoiler Alert! The albino monk did it" It never happened. That is just a ludicrous thing to say. Nobody knew what the book was about until it came out. I just wonder how many of these spoiler alerters are going to be disappointed ... here is a spoiler alert. I have it ... I know what happens... I finished it an hour ago. I'm not telling. Pax - C I'm with you Suzie ... I asked the same thing.
