Yeah. I'm holding onto XP because because its cool to have a developed or stable OS for all my music making hardware.

It will only say Celeron if its Celeron. Pentium and Celeron are two different kinds of cpu chips. FYI always get Pentium. NEVER get celeron. I build computer systems, NEVER get Celeron. No matter how much money you think you will be saving. To get your system to optimum performance upgrade your ram. 1GB is great but 2GB is better. GO to www.cpuid.com and download pc wizard 2007 and that will tell you what kind of ram you have or you can also go to www.crucial.com and put in your make and model of your system and it will tell you what kind of ram you need and your ram capacity. If your running any graphics program like photoshop you definately need the ram ( XP and VISTA requires 256MB of ram, and you should have another 256MB of ram for your office programs) so you should keep 500MB ram for email, chatting, etc etc. So 1GB of RAM is the minimum you should have. If your running games for a child you should have a graphics card with its own ram. 256MB of ram on a graphics card is great. Also for protection of your computer you need to prevent things from getting in which is what a hardware firewall does (router) go to www.linksys.com and check out the wrt54G. Also to prevent things from getting out get Norton Antivirus www.symantec.com and for spam and other things get Adaware SE Personal from www.download.com If you go to http://pack.google.com you can get alot of software for free and get the rest from the sites I recommended. When you get to the googlepack options just dont check the spyware doctor box. Its garbage.

No.

Your Pentium 4 uses the same Socket as a Celeron D Processor, but your Pentium 4 has more Cache, and is Thus Faster. So, you could put a Celeron D in your PC, but that would be like 'Down-Grading'.

The original Celeron shared its Socket with the Pentium III.
So, for your Information, the Celeron is rather Old, and was Replaced with the Celeron D Processor.

I believe that the 'Code Name' for your Processor is the Mustage, and the Celeron D was the Fiesta.

You have a Pentium, not a Celeron. Both made by Intel.
Pentium is the Mustang, Celeron is the Fiesta.
