That's an easy one. There are many good ones--Charlie Manna, Shecky Greene, George Gobel, Richard Pryor,
etc.
But the best was Rodeny Dangerfield, I believe because his material was so brilliantly written and delivered with such energy and authority.

I saw his grave in Westwood last year; and he even had the last word there. On his stone are the words, "There goes the neighborhood"...

As someone who doesn't get any respect either, I loved every routine of his I ever saw.

I almost pee in my pants every time I hear him.

Granted Rodney Dangerfield is good, Robin Williams is excellent. George Carlin and Richard Pryor use the curse words to their benefit.

No one makes me laugh as hard as Mr. Murphy.
