Do you tip bad service?

well i did this once at a not bizzy apple-bees once i took them 20 min to get us water and take are order then 45 min to get the food to the table and no refills in between so i left a note that said no tip i am and applebee quality control person and i will be call the owner of this restaurant when i get back to the office. then handed the person the note and walk out the door.
i remember looking back at the employs and all of them had a worried look on there face so to stick it to i flip open my cell phone and open the door to my car and drove away.

Yes but I do not tip bad service. On the other hand, if I get good service I tip well. A tip is not just because they showed up for work.

Yeah. Our service was so bad at one restaurant once that we actually called the manager over and complained. It took them 15 minutes to come over and take our drink order and we were there over an hour before we got our food and had finished eating before we even got our dinner rolls. And, to make it worse, there were only a dozen people, maybe, in the whole place! The manager apologized and took 50 percent off our bill and we DID NOT leave a tip to the fat, rude waitress either!

Yes, I have received bad service such as being served a bowl of soup that had spilled in front of me, and the waitress failed to clean it up. I did it myself. I did leave a full tip, along with a short note of dissatisfaction.

Who hasn't.
I never tip bad service,they don't deserve it.
But on the other side I have had some really good service also and I have given a generous tip, because they deserve it.

We received terrible service but my partner tipped anyway, claiming she'd remember us next time and be guilted into better service. We didn't go back so I don't know if she felt guilty or not.

yes, bad service. we consistently have bad service at bj's brewhouse. we leave a tip, but write on the ticket, lousy service! we dont go anymore because of it and we liked the food!

worst service ever. restaurant in central indiana about 10 years ago. 2am. i am the ONLY customer in there. took 15 minutes to get glass of water. food sat on counter for 5 minutes. i finally went and got it myself. never saw the waitress after i got my water. when i went to register, manager said, "no charge". wonder how often that happened? true story.

i have many times. i tip bad service but not well.
