The girls name is Orihime.

I really don't think you can make that name American. People will just not get it.
My grandparents changed their name when they got to the USA.

It's a tough one to pronounce no matter how you spell it. Best to go with the traditional spelling of Orihime in my opinion. At least if a person knows anything about Japanese they could pronounce it. Change the spelling and then potentially no group could get it right!

I like Orihemae. I watch Bleach too. I don't really like Orihime. She's too ditzy for me. My favs are Ichigo and I can't remember his name, but the soul pod thing that sometimes possess Ichigo and also possess the lion doll. They're both funny and Ichigo kicks major @ss

Truthfully I think ALL of those spellings will be confusing to most Americans. If you want a Japanese name, keep it Japanese and just call her Mae, and her Japanese name at home. I know a guy who has 2 half Japanese boys and they did the same.

To be honest I like the original spelling the best but off your list Orahemae looks the best.
Something like Orahemae Elise, Orahemae Jeanine, Orahemae Clarice, or Orahemae Camille.

Orahemay might be another spelling varient you might like.

yea, its really ugly.. lol my husband has katakana hanko. you can choose hiragana as well. and you can use both first and last name even for official use. i changed my japanese last name to american name when i married. i made new hanko using my japanese first name coz katakana hanko is terribly ugly :) hiragana is kinda feminine. katakana is masculine. (because of history) but you still can use hiragana for fun!
